Cygnus Teaching School Alliance is led by and based at Wycombe High School in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire and provides support and training for schools across Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Hertfordshire and Oxfordshire. Cygnus is committed to working strategically and collaboratively with key partners to support schools in improving outcomes for children and young people.

We are committed to creating a dynamic culture of school-to-school support and high quality Continuing Professional Development (CPD) at all levels. With the expertise available through our strategic partnerships, we are able to offer a comprehensive and bespoke offer of support.
Cygnus brings together best practice across schools and supports a school-led model of self-improvement.
We provide an Appropriate Body Service for Secondary Newly Qualified Teachers (NQTs) in the state and independent sectors.
We offer a Secondary NQT Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Package
We deploy our National Leader of Education (NLE) and Specialist Leaders of Education (SLEs) to support school improvement
We lead the National Mathematics & Physics School Centred Initial Teacher Training (NMAPS)
We work closely with a number of strategic partners including the Institute of Physics and The University of Buckingham
We have strong links with the Bucks, Berks and Oxon (BBO) Maths Hub, who work closely with the National Centre for Excellence in Teaching Mathematics (NCETM), The Mathematical Association and The Further Maths Support Programme
We deliver the Acclimatisation Event for international teachers recruited by Quantum Scholars
We work in collaboration with four other Buckinghamshire Teaching Schools as part of the Teaching Talent Network, providing a seamless approach to the training and development of teaching professionals.
